First birthday portraits are not only a celebration of a birthday, but a celebration of making it through a whole year of parenting. It should be an even bigger celebration if you have twins! This Atlanta cake smash for twins was just that. A celebration of two unique and beautiful babies who just happen to be twins. AND a celebration for their parents who survived a whole year with not one but two sweet babies to nurture.

Traditional First Birthday Portraits

Every Atlanta cake smash session starts off with traditional first birthday portraits. We took time get individual photos of each of these twins to capture their unique personalities. We added this balloon garland to my white studio for a fun backdrop. The pink and blue was mixed to represent each child and it was such a sweet touch to show that they are both individuals and also have a special twin relationship together.

After our more traditional portraits, we bring out the cake! Or in the case of this Atlanta cake smash for twins, the TWO cakes! In keeping with our pink and blue theme, each baby had their own color coordinated cake. My best advice for cake smash design is to keep it simple! colors should be muted or pale, and white should always be intermixed. This keeps the colors in the photo soft so all the focus can be on your sweet babies instead of glaring colors.
